New regional boss as Qlik seeks to tap into rising analytics demand

Qlik has appointed industry veteran Julian Quinn as its Asia Pacific regional vice president as the vendor seeks to tap into the rise of analytics and drive growth throughout the region.

Quinn, who was previously Asia and Japan vice president for Veeam Software, is charged with leading and expanding the vendor’s operations throughout Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and ASEAN.

Mark Thurmond, Qlik executive vice president of worldwide sales and services, says customers across Asia Pacific in a range of different industries have started to harness Qlik’s platform based approach to derive actionable insights.

Those customers include Akindo Sushiro, Baidu, Lazada, Lupin Limited and Teachers Mutual Bank.

“Under [Quinn’s] leadership, even more organisations in the region will be empowered with self-service analytics to see the whole story behind their data,” Thurmond says.

Adds Quinn: “There’s no better time to join Qlik, as we continue to witness the upward surge of embedded, self-service and visual analytics in every sector.

“I look forward to further strengthening Qlik’s position as the leader in APAC in the Business Intelligence and Analytics market segment.”

Quinn has more than 30 years experience in the IT sector.

As well as hisstint at Veeam, he has had roles including Adobe APAC vice president, Borland Asia Pacific vice president, BEA Systems Asia South vice president and ANZ managing director of Netscape.
