China Telecom, Silver Peak & Westcon-Comstor launch managed SD-WAN partnership

Silver Peak and China Telecom Shanghai are now providing fully-managed SD-WAN services to enterprise customers across China. They will be managed through Westcon-Comstor Asia.

The two companies are targeting enterprises wishing to expand into and out of China by providing international connectivity, performance and security measures.

Cao Zheng, China Telecom's manager of network management expert business department, says the company is pleased that managed SD-WAN is now part of its wider WAN service portfolio.

China Telecom is utilising Silver Peak's EdgeConnect SD-WAN solution to boost network reach while meeting each customer's individual Service Level Agreements.

“By partnering with the industry leader Silver Peak, we can accelerate growth and expand our customer base by offering cost effective global WAN connectivity to our existing Chinese multinational clients and attract new multinational clients," Zheng says.

Westcon-Comstor Asia will be delivering the SD-WAN deployments to customers.

“We’re partnering with two industry leaders, Silver Peak and China Telecom to bring managed SD-WAN services to our joint clients across China and around the world,” comments Wilson Ho, managing director, Westcon-Comstor, Asia.

“In addition to fulfilment and integration services we will provide an in-country Silver Peak presence and the local expertise to expedite managed SD-WAN service deployments to quickly bring the full power of SD-WAN to our existing and new joint multi-national clients," Ho continues.

Westcon-Comstor was able to fully integrate the EdgeConnect platform into the CT NetCare unified customer network monitoring and management platform.

Silver Peak's vice president service provider and cloud, Shayne Stubbs, says it's an exciting partnership. He says that enterprises can sometimes struggle to balance management and costs associated with connectivity while keeping an eye on security and performance.

"With Westcon-Comstor at the ready to provide turnkey fulfillment and integration services along with a strong in-country presence in China we are confident that we can deliver unprecedented levels of flexibility and value to our joint customers," Stubbs concludes.
